Finalists, are you ready for I-1GP 2025?
Please double-check the rules video and the competition rules (documents), which has been translated into your local languages.
This year’s I-1GP is momentous in that it marks the 20th anniversary of the competition. Some of you are new members of the Isuzu family, while others are experienced enough to be in a leadership position. Some may even be senior enough to have already retired. We are planning to take a retrospective look at the past 20 years on the day of the competition. Our goal, in addition to reaffirming the history of the I-1GP’s development, is to make it an opportunity to think about the future together.
Yokohama, the venue for the competition, is a city that symbolizes Japan’s modernization, having disseminated modernity throughout Japan for the past 150 years.
The Port of Yokohama is a strategic center for international trade and deals with all types of cargo as part of the Keihin Port, which handles 1/3 of Japan’s container shipments. Yokohama Station has 12 different rail lines coming through it, the most of any terminal in Japan. In addition, Haneda Airport, Japan’s domestic hub, is not far from Yokohama, and with the expansion of the highway network, the city continues to grow as a center for distribution from the metropolitan area throughout the country. If Tokyo is the face of Japan, then Yokohama is the beating heart that controls distribution by land, sea and air.
Here in this distribution mecca that is Yokohama, we look forward to seeing the members of each team come together to show off your skills in the new venue, as you strive for the No. 1 spot.
Finalists and guests, let us make this milestone 20th I-1GP the most exciting one yet! The Secretariat staff and all Isuzu employees are waiting eagerly to welcome you to Japan.
